This August, Red Planet Software isn’t just building software. We’re navigating 3,800 kilometres of outback terrain alongside more than 40 aircraft in the Red Planet Software Outback Air Race 2025.
Our mission? Raise $750,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, one of Australia’s most trusted charities.

The Ceo Who Suits Up
At RPS, leadership doesn’t just sit at the desk. It soars with the mission. Our CEO, Peter Williams, is a licensed pilot and lifelong aviation enthusiast. In 2025, he’ll take the pilot seat for his fifth Outback Air Race, flying under the banner of the company he helped build from the ground up.
“The Royal Flying Doctor Service and the insurance industry are built on the same promise: to show up when it matters,” said Williams.

The Outback Air Race isn’t about speed. It’s a test of precision, planning, and old-school aviation skill. Pilots must hit target times at nine remote airstrips over 15 days, flying from Uluru to Carnarvon in a national display of grit and goodwill.
The 2025 race will also be fully carbon-offset, thanks to a new partnership with Greenfleet.
